Harvest Oatmeal

I think we've had this for breakfast every day since we created this recipe. For someone who doesn't like the same meal more than twice in a row, this is saying something. This recipe scores bookoo points because it is the only food that Little Man asks for seconds, thirds, and some days even fourths! Can you believe it?!?! Getting food into a toddler can be a struggle. Getting food into a toddler that you can get behind is...well..nearly unheard of! :)

Ingredients:

1 cup plant milk/desired serving

1/4 cup rolled oats/desired serving

(I usually make 4 servings so, 4 cups plant milk with 1 cup of rolled oats. I put it this way so you could decide how much to make for your family.)

2 Apples diced

1 toothpick of doTerra Cinnamon Essential Oil (Insert a toothpick into your Cinnamon bottle, pull out, and stir into your oatmeal/plant milk mixture)

2 tsp Vanilla

Topping-

Granola (optional)

Maple Syrup (optional)

Prepare:

1. Make Oatmeal. In a saucepan bring plant milk to a boil. Stir in oats, apples, cinnamon toothpick, and vanilla. Simmer on low heat until all the plant milk has been absorbed. For creamier oatmeal, slowly add more plant milk a tablespoon at a time and allow it to be absorbed. Repeat until the desired thickness.

Serve:

Dish up in bowls. Sprinkle with granola and add maple syrup for sweetness.

What is your favorite breakfast this time of year? Do you dream of curling up with warm oatmeal, coffee, and a good book every morning? Then remembering you're a mom! :) It is my hope that you do find time for self-care.
