Herbal Remedies for Supporting Healing-Cuts, Scrapes, Bruising

Updated: Aug 7, 2023

Your kiddo just ran in from the garage screaming crying. You run to her and assess what could be the matter. You notice her lip is bleeding, swelling, and starting to turn black and blue. Quick, what do you do?

If you are at my house, I'm going to grab my go-to herbal remedies for cuts, bruising, and scrapes. First, I make sure the cut is clean. As soon as the cut is clean, I use helichrysum oil around the cut area. I don't apply this directly to the cut as this could sting.

Helichrysum oil is fantastic for helping support the body in slowing and stopping the bleeding.

From there comes the powerhouse homeopathic remedy, Arnica! I have Arnica in so many forms for this exact scenario. I typically start with the cream. You can get the cream at any store these days, and even Amazon will ship it directly to your door.

Arnica is amazing at supporting the body's bruising response. I bet you'll be a lot like me and be amazed every time you use it. I swear the bruising just disappears.

I also have this in pellets in varying levels of potency in case the pain is more severe and something extra is needed.

After we are past that initial stage and the cut is scabbed over, I use my version the over the counter creams you use on cuts. This cream is amazing, and cuts heal in record time.

There you have it. Ready for anything in just three items. Maybe I should include some things to help Mama, because usually I'm more worried than the kids ever are. Lol! :) :)

This has been my go-to herbal remedies for years and has held up with having two rambunctious Alaskan kiddos. You'll find these items in my kitchen, bathroom, and diaper bag because one never knows when a slip, trip, or fall may happen. And I like to be prepared.

What items in your house are you looking to replace with plant-based, herbal, natural remedies? Comment below.
