This is one area where I wished I had known well before hiring my first coach. I feel like I spent a lot of time figuring out what a coach is, and how best to use my time with them. Had I done a little preparation beforehand, I would have better utilized our time and gotten the most bank for my money!
So first things first. What do you want to use a coach for? A general idea is totally fine. It can be super vague and that is ok.
Examples:
I want to sleep better.
I want to eat better.
I want to lose weight.
I want to calm the chaos in my life.
I want to plan a garden.
I want to plant a food forest.
My kid is having this issue, I want to help them, but I don't know where to start.
I want to (Fill in the blank) but I'm so busy.
I want to.....fill in the blank with what you really, really want.
This topic is what you'll chat about with your coach during what I call the "Discovery Call."
When you have this idea, book a Free Discovery Call with me and we'll chat about how coaching can help you achieve that in your life now. If coaching isn't the right fit, I'll make sure to match you with the services that can really help you thrive.
Also during that Discovery Call, I'll match you with discovery tool or two that will help you gain clarity around what it is that you want to achieve. These tools are great because they ask questions to get you thinking on how to start. And starting is always the hardest part!
Take your time filling out the tools, and bring them with you to our first session together. We can go over them and map out a plan forward with our sessions together.
This early preparation can go a long ways in maximizing the benefit of having a coach. Like I tell my clients. We can get a lot done in a short amount of tie, because we are so intentional.
